Friday, January 18, 2008Time with GodI was chatting with my friend Ruth today online, and we both were talking about how we want to be more committed to reading scripture and praying on a daily basis. Ruth mentioned that struggling to do this is evidence of spiritual warfare, and it is real! I have to agree..I have been convicted lately that I am not as diligent about this as I would hope, and that I often fail in making time for my God. In thinking about what Ruth said, I realized that I can easily become frustrated with myself because I am not spending enough quality time with God. But I know that God does not want me to feel ashamed or condemned. Instead, He wants me to spend some time with Him because He loves me! And I also know that He wants me to find my JOY in Him alone!!! Right after our conversation, I came across this prayer in a book that I am reading: Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me... Restore to me the joy of your salvation, And sustain me with a willing spirit. Psalm 51: 10,12 God, I love you and YOU are my joy!! Thank you for my amazing husband too! |
