Wednesday, May 28, 2008Police "Situation"Lea called me around 3:45 p.m. this afternoon. A police officer had come to our door and told Lea to stay inside with the doors locked...he said there was a "situation" a couple buildings south in our complex. Like us, when a police officer tells you there is a "situation," you probably do not assume someone spilled some milk and the officers are on scene to make sure the cleanup goes efficiently. I called the police to try and find out what was happening and if I could go get my wife. They wouldn't tell me but did say that the police were likely going to be evacuating the apartments. So I put on my camo and went in. Which is to say I walked over to the apartment and got Lea. I saw some cop cars but nothing right by our apartment. Anyway, we came back to my office and hung out for a while. We just called the police again (it's 5:30 p.m.) and they said the situation has been resolved. They still provided no details but we found this article online. Good times.
